Lights... camera... JUICE?
Entries are now open for the world’s largest short film festival by and for kids – Trop Junior.
Tropfest’s younger sibling, Trop Junior, is a filmmaking competition and free outdoor festival for kids 15 years and younger – and entries are open now!
Trop Jr is about encouraging young people to make films. It’s not about fancy equipment or big budgets – last year’s Trop Jr winner, Simeon Bain, made the winning film ‘Imagine’ using a mobile phone.
Trop Jr is the world’s largest short film festival for kids, by kids. Budding film makers can win a booty of great prizes, or just enjoy the thrill of having their film broadcast around Australia. Trop Jr finalists will also have their short films screened at the Domain in Sydney ahead of the iconic Movie Extra Tropfest event on Sunday 19 February 2012.
Tropfest Founder and Director, John Polson says, “Trop Jr is all about fostering a love of film in young kids. It’s about giving young filmmakers a voice, to get out there and explore their creativity, tell their story and share ideas.”
All entries must be made specifically for the festival, be no longer than 7 minutes, and feature the Trop Jr Signature Item, which for 2012 is JUICE. Entries close on Thursday 5 January, 2012, and kids can enter online at www.tropjr.com.
