1. Take a cold (and hot) shower!
Alternating blasts of hot and cold water in the shower will instantly refresh and revive you. The temperature change also revs up your circulation and puts colour in your cheeks – it’s like CPR for the skin.
2. Spoon!
Chill teaspoons in the fridge and rest them on your eyes before you start to apply your make-up – it reduces puffiness and redness when you’re sleep-deprived.
3. Bright eyes
Dab highlighter on the shady spot at the inner corner of your eyes – it instantly brightens up the whole eye area.
4. Coffee for your eyes
Dip cotton pads into cooled brewed espresso and press them beneath your eyes – it eliminates all the darkness and puff. How and why? Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, so it shrinks blood vessels and minimises dark circles. Caffeine’s diuretic effect also helps reduce swelling, which is why it’s so popular in eye creams.
5. Try a little eyeliner magic
Rim your inner, upper lash lines with navy eyeliner – it will make the whites of your eyes seem brighter. You could also try white liner on your inner, lower lids. The white helps offset redness.
6. Add more mascara
Give your upper lashes three coats of mascara to open up your eyes and make them look a little bigger. (Forget the bottom lashes – you don’t want to risk panda-eye smudges!)
7. Bronze and blush
Brush bronzer very lightly all over your face and then use a shimmery blush on your cheeks – it will give you a ‘just-back-from-holidays’ look!
8. Pink power
Pink lipgloss has the power to draw attention away from weary eyes, while putting on a pink scarf will warm up your skin tone, and make you look and feel amazing!
9. Do a ponytail face-lift
Pulling your hair into a high, tight ponytail literally gives your face a little lift and makes you look refreshed. Also perfect for a bad-hair-day!
10. Bring on the bling
Throw on a glittery necklace or earrings – the sparkles will make you look lively and feel like a million bucks.
